Today is a happy day for the gaming industry.

According to shacknews, 3D Realms is shutting down. The fate of the Duke? The publishing rights to DNF is retained by Take-Two, who will not be funding the project. Gee, I guess George Broussard will have to face reality now that he can no longer get high snorting pizzas off a hooker's ass and living the fantasy of being worshipped as the next John Carmack with his ridiculously overcompensatory self-insert.

The company has been a pox on the gaming industry ever since its inception, and in it's later years it grew bloated and useless, living off publishing deals from other small-time developers. In fact, the company has developed fuck-all since 1996. I am amazed at how many people are acting towards this news as if someone had killed their god. Seriously, George Broussard could not be any further from being a saint if he tried.

So Georgie Gnarr, good riddance, don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. (IF it could fit through the door!)

  1. I suppose I should be glad that I never got into Duke or 3D Realms, haha.
